10 nonprofits using technology to close Latin America's biggest gaps

Propel's Impact Accelerator selected ten nonprofits across Latin America to scale high-impact digital solutions. They received USD 15,000 and 8 months of expert advisory support.

Throughout the program, they identified challenges, designed solutions, and built the capabilities to scale their impact. Today, their projects show how technology is closing social gaps across the region.

O-Lab Chatbot – El Origen 🇨🇴

Solution: A WhatsApp chatbot to improve the employability of young Colombians.

In Colombia, 70% of young people in rural areas finish school with no clarity about their future. The lack of guidance limits their opportunities and reinforces cycles of poverty. To change this, Fundación El Origen developed a WhatsApp chatbot that guides youth in discovering their vocation through personalized recommendations and connections to training programs.

They have reached more than 7,000 users, with 500 young people actively using the chatbot. In the next year, they aim to train more than 100,000 young people across Latin America.

SummerUp - Fundación Summer 🇨🇱

Solution: An educational platform to strengthen suicide prevention through personalized learning.

Globally, one person dies every 40 seconds by suicide (WHO). In Chile, it is the leading cause of death among young people. To address this, Fundación Summer developed SummerUp, a platform that trains people in preventive mental health care and measures the impact of each session to create personalized learning paths.

They have impacted more than 500,000 people. Their goal is to train 1 million and reduce the suicide rate in Latin America by 10% by 2035.

OLANA - Soydoy 🇨🇴

Solution: A wellness platform to improve the physical and mental health of workers in Colombian companies.

In Latin America, 46% of workers suffer from burnout. The decline in their habits and quality of life comes at a high cost for companies. To change this, SoyDoy created OLANA, a system that monitors the physical and mental health of employees in real time and delivers actionable insights to help organizations make proactive care decisions.

They are currently operating in Colombia and aim to impact 1,500 people in the next year, with a goal of scaling to 75,000 across three countries within 5 years.

TINKI - Peruanos Unidos por la Cocina y la Alimentación 🇵🇪

Solution: A platform to expand commercial opportunities for Peruvian smallholders.

Peru faces a paradox: 12.8 million tons of food are wasted every year, while 52% of the population suffers from food insecurity (FAO). Food is simply not reaching where it is needed most. To solve this, PUCA developed TINKI, a platform that trains and connects rural smallholders with strategic clients and partners.

Their programs have already reached one thousand people living in food insecurity. With this solution, they aim to strengthen smallholders and reduce the food distribution gap across the country.

Fundraising CRM - Fundación Espacio Creativo 🇵🇦

Solution: A CRM to digitize their fundraising and reach more young Panamanians.

In Panama, 1 in 3 children and adolescents grow up in contexts of poverty and social risk (UNICEF). Fundación Espacio Creativo transforms their future through programs that combine art, education, and technology. To scale their impact, they are implementing a CRM that organizes, automates, and strengthens their donation strategy.

They have benefited more than 12,000 people through arts and culture programs. With this initiative, they aim to double their reach in the coming years.

Salud + Humana - TANI 🇵🇪

Solution: A platform to train health professionals with a human-centered approach to assist Peruvian families.

In Peru, 48% of people with health issues cannot access institutional care, and more than 2 million people in rural communities lack timely diagnosis. To address this, TANI developed an educational platform that trains health professionals with a human-centered approach to reach more centers in rural areas.

They have impacted more than 400,000 families, with a 90% increase in reported wellbeing. In the coming years, they aim to train 500 health professionals, reaching more than 2,500 families with more empathetic, comprehensive care.

Nodo+ - Nogales 🇨🇴

Solution: A platform to connect educational needs with high-impact EdTech solutions.

In Latin America, only 10% of technology investment reaches schools (McKinsey & Company). Without clear selection criteria, institutions struggle to identify the right tools for their context. To solve this, Nogales developed Nodo+, a platform that categorizes EdTech solutions by context, learning metrics, and pedagogical grounding and connects them with schools.

They have reached more than 60,000 people across Latin America, accelerating technology solutions that are transforming education. Over the next 12 months, they aim to support 30 educational communities and profile more than 30 EdTech solutions.

Círculo - FUSAL 🇸🇻

Solution: An app to track nutrition and child development programs in vulnerable communities.

In El Salvador, more than 600,000 families live in extreme poverty (World Bank). This affects thousands of children who grow up with limited access to food and education. To address this, FUSAL implements nutrition and child development programs in vulnerable communities. With Círculo, they train volunteers, log their activities, and collect data to tailor each program to its community.

Through this network, they already impact more than 5,000 children across 172 communities, supported by 500 trained volunteers.

Diseña tu clase - Fundación Santa Isabel 🇨🇴

Solution: A training platform for rural teachers to teach social-emotional skills to Colombian students.

In Colombia, one in three students at public schools does not believe they will finish high school. Scarce opportunities reinforce cycles of poverty. To change this, Fundación Santa Isabel created Diseña tu Clase, a platform that equips teachers with resources to teach social-emotional skills and help students build purposeful life plans.

Trained teachers have already impacted 30,000 students, with 82% reporting greater clarity about their future. Over the next 12 months, they aim to build a network of 500 teachers implementing this methodology consistently.

SinkuApp - Sinkumunchis 🇵🇪

Solution: A tracking platform for children and adolescents in community sports programs in the Andes.

In Peru, the centralization of sports leaves more than 1 million Quechua-speaking children without access to quality sporting opportunities. Sinkumunchis offers education and sports programs in their native language. To support their network, they developed a platform that collects data, centralizes key information, and facilitates the follow-up of each child.

With this tool, they aim to sustain their impact with more than 3,000 children across 20 Peruvian communities and expand throughout the Andes.

We celebrate the organizations that were part of this Impact Accelerator cohort. Their work reminds us that the future of social impact in Latin America is not something to wait for — it is built, shared, and started today, by those who dare to imagine it differently.

With support from Google.org and Twilio.

Thanks for making it possible.
